The CBICC is committed to cultivating a vibrant and innovative business landscape and building a smart economic future in Centre County. We focus on spurring economic development, stimulating job creation, and fostering innovation through unique partnerships and leadership in key areas. Our efforts make Centre County an increasingly prosperous place to live, work, and conduct business.

The CBICC is also a community partner of several other organizations throughout Centre County and works closely with other chambers and economic-development organizations throughout the region to positively impact our economy and enhance the quality of life of everyone in central Pennsylvania.

Through collaborative initiatives such as Success With Honor, Happy Valley Agventures and DRIVEForward, the Chamber is addressing issues critical to business growth and competitiveness, including workforce preparedness, agritourism, NIL initiatives with Penn State student athletes, and transportation infrastructure.

Since 1920

The Chamber has been serving as a champion of our shared communities, a catalyst for business growth and a convener of leaders and influencers since 1920.

The organization was formed when the State College Chamber of Commerce (established in 1920) and the Centre County Industrial Development Corporation (established in 1956) combined into a single operating entity in 1992.

Today, the Chamber staffs and manages three corporate entities under its umbrella:

• The Chamber of Business & Industry of Centre County (CBICC) – 501c(6) membership organization governed by a single 22-member (maximum) Board of Directors.

• Centre County Industrial Development Corporation (CCIDC) – 501c(4) charged with promoting economic development throughout Centre County. The CCIDC is the Chamber’s legal arm for economic development. The mission is conducted under the banner of the Centre County Economic Development Partnership (CCEDP) with public/private partners and is focused on entrepreneurial development, business retention and new business investment.

• Chamber Foundation of Centre County – 501c(3) charitable organization focused on economic development and education initiatives, while offering tax advantages to businesses or individuals that make certain charitable contributions to support CBICC/CCIDC professional/workforce development initiatives.
