History
Since 1920
The Chamber has been serving as a champion of our shared communities, a catalyst for business growth and a convener of leaders and influencers since 1920.
The organization was formed when the State College Chamber of Commerce and the Centre County Industrial Development Corporation combined into a single operating entity in 1992.

1956
Centre County Industrial Development Corporation is established
1991
Leadership Centre County is launched through regional partnership
1992
State College Chamber of Commerce and Centre County Industrial Development Corporation combine into a single operating entity: The Chamber of Business & Industry of Centre County
2021
Greg Scott is appointed as President and CEO of the Chamber of Business & Industry of Centre County
2023
Economic Development Council begins countywide strategic-planning work
2024
Centre County's Economic Development Strategic Plan is launched, representing a collaborative effort to strengthen growth, resilience, and long-term competitiveness across the region
2025
First-annual Centre County Spring Job Fair, in partnership with PA CareerLink® Centre County, is held to support local workforce development
2025
State College Air Service Alliance is formed in partnership with the Centre County Airport Authority, The Happy Valley Adventure Bureau, and Penn State
