Membership Engagement Coordinator
As the Membership Engagement Coordinator for CBICC, Steve meets with current and prospective members and assists with membership on-boarding and benefits follow-up.
Steve has a strong skill set and genuine love of meeting new people. He comes to the Chamber after retiring in 2020 with over 33 years at Penn State. As a Planner and Estimator of Architectural Trades at Penn State, Steve worked and engaged with University staff, students, businesses and contractors, further developing his ability to communicate and build relationships with individuals from a variety of industries and backgrounds. Prior to his years at Penn State, Steve worked in the lumber yard at O.W. Hout’s & Sons — a former family-owned general store in State College. It was here that he began developing his customer service skills and appreciation for State College. Steve looks forward to using his people-centric skill set, appreciation for the community, and love of meeting new people in his role at the Chamber.
Steve has been involved in volunteer work for various charities in Centre County and served as the coordinator of the Olympic Village at the Special Olympics of Pennsylvania alongside his wife, Donna.
Originally from the northern part of Pennsylvania (Sheffield and Bradford), Steve has called State College home for 40 years. He enjoys attending the Central PA Civil War Roundtable, working out at locally-owned One on One Fitness, and spending time with his wife, daughters, Stacy and Kelly, and their husbands.
