Greg Scott Five Year Anniversary Thank You Letter to the Community
Dear Centre County Community,
Five years ago, I had the privilege of stepping into the role of President & CEO of the Chamber of Business & Industry of Centre County. As I reflect on that milestone, the word that continues to come to mind is gratitude.
When I joined CBICC, I believed strongly that Centre County’s greatest opportunities would come from working together across businesses, communities, organizations, and institutions. Five years later, you have proven that belief true. Anything meaningful that has happened during these five years has happened because people throughout Centre County were willing to show up, have conversations, share ideas, invest their time and resources, and work together on behalf of this community.
To our CBICC members, thank you for your trust and engagement. You are the reason the Chamber exists and thrives.
To our Investor Level members and business leaders who have made an additional commitment to our economic development work, thank you for believing in what we can accomplish together and for investing in the future of Centre County.
To our elected officials and municipal and county leaders, thank you for your partnership and willingness to work across boundaries when an opportunity or challenge affects all of us.
To Penn State, our nonprofit community, our economic development partners, and the many organizations working every day to make Centre County stronger, thank you for being at the table and for recognizing how connected our work really is.
And to our CBICC Board members, volunteers, and staff, past and present, thank you. I have been fortunate to work alongside people who care deeply about this organization and this community.
Over the past five years, we have tackled some significant issues and pursued some ambitious opportunities. There have been successes, challenges, and plenty of lessons along the way. But what I am most proud of isn't any one initiative or accomplishment; it is the way people have come together around the idea that we can accomplish more when we work as a community. That gives me tremendous optimism about what comes next. There is still so much opportunity in front of Centre County. We have an incredible university, strong businesses and institutions, vibrant communities, talented people, and leaders who genuinely care about this place. I am hopeful about what we can build when we continue bringing those strengths together.
Thank you for your trust, your partnership, your friendship, and your commitment to Centre County. I am grateful for the opportunity to continue this work alongside you. There is much more to do and I look forward to building what comes next, together.
From,
Greg Scott
